Underground Rehabilitation
Services
Our services involve opening-up of areas that have collapsed due to virgin rock stresses resulting in rock-burst and FOGs.
Once such an excavation is re-opened to the specified dimensions, mechanized re-supporting methodologies are utilized to support according to the client’s Rock Mechanic’s recommendations.
Current similar work is being implemented by Bora Mining Services (PTY) LTD at Palabora Copper Mine.
Conveyor Belt Installation
& Maintenance
This involves the supply of right conveyor belt specified material to be installed, from the construction of conveyor steel frame to the installation of the belt. Maintenance of the belt to ensure continuous availability thereby minimizing downtimes . A regular pro-active maintenance schedule is drawn to ensure that its implementation has a minimum or no negative impact to the daily progress of the production activities.
Development Of Flat
& Vertical Excavations
This involves the excavating of lateral development ends and vertical developments to the required dimensions using both conventional and mechanised methodologies. As mining contractors, excavation designs are provided by our clients to be used as baseline for quality control parameters of the work to be undertaken. Bora Mining Services (PTY) LTD has undertaken similar works with Palabora Copper Mine and has successfully delivered high-end quality works which included the development of Raise-Bore Chamber Facilities.
Construction, Civils
& Batching Services
Emergent from Bora’s sister company, which deals mainly with the supply of shotcrete materials, Bora Mining Services (PTY) LTD has mastered the art of designing and setting up efficient batching plants to achieve minimal running costs for the process flow for both shotcrete and concrete batching services. All related civils and other peripheral constructions required to complement the application of shotcrete and concrete is done in house. This include the underground roadways concrete paving, bullnose cementation, flooring, concrete lining during installation of draw point sets and backfilling of old areas.
Installation Of
Support Units
This involves supporting of hanging-wall and side-walls of any underground excavation to provide a safe working environment and enable prolonged sustainability of such an excavation. All support units are installed using best practices according to client’s standards and procedures with guidelines from the appointed Rock Mechanic. Bora Mining Services (PTY) LTD has undertaken similar work at Palabora Copper Mine in both rehabilitation and during development phases of raise-bore facilities.
